Yeah I know, its been quite a while since I last posted. But ya know, life just has this habit of getting in the way of a good blog!
So we have just slogged through Christmas - the coolest Christmas I can ever remember. Normally we swelter every Xmas, this year, it was lovely and mild. But just when you are wondering where summer is, it hits, just a bit late, and today its around 40 deg (celcius for those of you not in the know)!
Toby got some great presents, he has been having a ball playing with the new toys, and mummy spent a great deal of time sorting and packing away some of the old ones. Same with clothes, which are now in vacuum storage bags under my bed!
Seems everyone I know (well almost) is having or had another baby, and I's sitting here thinking uh-no. I am not ready. Don't know if I ever will be. My butt cheek still hurts (but thats a whole other story not for public viewing!! LOL).
So that brings me to tomorrow. Its my birthday, I will be 33. Cripes, Im getting old and I didnt notice. Sheesh.
Nothing much else to write about. My specialist check ups have been positive - I am getting better. Funny though, the Dr says to me, I am the only patient he has treated with this disease who actually gave away their birds. I mean WTF? Dont you value being able to breath? To live? I didnt really want to die gasping for breath. It was not a hard decision. It was not like an allergy where you get a bit itchy. It was on par with peanut allergy. I have since had contact with one bird, when I was hanging around in the vet waiting room, and within 10 mins of this lady walking in with the great big Macaw on her shoulder, I had a raging headache. So no more birds for me!!
Alright best be off, Toby wants a cuddle. My little cuddle pot he is. I will endeavor to post some more photos shortly.
Just call me slack. Slackness is my middle name.

I have been sick. Really sick. Hospital sick.
I am better now. Well 1000% on what I was, even if its not fully cured.
My last post I mentioned how I was sick. I thought it was a cold. But the cough never went away. I started not being able to breath when I did simple things like walking between rooms in the house. If I did anything vaguely physical I was left gasping for breath. I would go to bed and almost hyperventilate trying to catch my breath.
GPs had me on numerous courses of antibiotics. Finally went to Hospital with massive pain in my side. They sent me home. About 3 weeks later the GP told me to go back, as I still was no better.
They kept me in hospital for 9 long long days. I had every test under the sun, Xrays, CT scans, Nuclear scans, ECGs and the most fun of them all, a Bronchoscopy. EWWWWWWWW! I think I would prefer another c-section thanks!
So the final diagnosis is made when ALL the tests come back negative. Its' called Extrinsic Allergic Alveolitis (hope I spelled that right! lol) and it basically means I have become allergic to my pet budgies, and my lungs will pack it in any time I hang around birds. So the birdies have had to go :(
Toby turned into a daddys boy while I was locked up (in the geriatric ward I might add!) I was a bit of a hospital identity for a while, because my oxygen levels were so low for one so young! haha
I've been home about a month now, and am slowly regaining my general fitness levels. Sitting around a hospital all that time really took it out of me.

During the week Toby learnt how to climb the lounge! Eeeeek! He gets up and is so excited that he flies up and down the length of it, with nary a thought to his skull if it were to collide violently with the floor! So I went out on Friday and bought him his own fold out sleep over lounge. He LOVES it! Who'd of thunk it.
I have snapped some pics of him on the lounge and will upload them to their own gallery when I get some time. I have just added the pics featuring his new hair cut. Check out the spunky lil dude!
Not much more to report here. Pretty quiet on the home front.
Cheerio!
